Our story

Someone in this family has been hammering silver for longer than anyone can properly account for

The bench came before the shop. Before the website, before the export licence, before anyone in the family had spoken to a customer in Toronto — there was a pitch bowl, a set of punches ground by hand, and a boy being told his acanthus leaf was nowhere near deep enough.

That is still how it works. The punches are still ground at the bench. The leaf is still not deep enough the first time. What changed is only that the people buying now live in Sydney and Dubai and New Jersey, and that they want to know exactly who made the thing sitting on their console table.

So we will tell you. It was made three streets from where the silver was assayed, by someone whose father taught him, and it was photographed the week it came off the bench.

Craftsmanship

Seven steps, none of which can be hurried

From a drawing on paper to an assayed hallmark. This is the whole of it — there is no eighth step where a machine takes over.

  1. 01

    Drawing

Every piece begins on paper. Our designers work from Rajput and Mughal reference — a jharokha arch, a temple frieze — before a single sheet of silver is cut.

  2. 02

    Raising

Flat sheet becomes form under the hammer. A clock case takes upwards of two thousand strikes, worked over a pitch bowl until the body holds its shape.

  3. 03

    Chasing

The detail goes in from the front with punches ground by the silversmith himself. This is the step that cannot be rushed and cannot be machined.

  4. 04

    Repoussé

Relief is pushed out from behind, then refined from the front again. The two steps alternate until the depth reads correctly under a lamp.

  5. 05

    Assembly

Components are soldered, movements seated, hardwood bases turned and fitted. Nothing is glued that can be pinned.

  6. 06

    Finishing

Oxidised in the recesses, burnished on the high points. The contrast is what makes chased silver legible from across a room.

  7. 07

    Hallmarking

Purity is assayed and struck. Bullion carries the Sarafa Traders Committee mark; articles are stamped 925 and issued a certificate.

Collections

Eight collections, every piece made in one workshop

Grouped by where they end up — a home temple, a study, a threshold, a hallway.

Why Jaipur

The city was planned with the silversmiths already in it

Four hundred years of the trade

Jaipur was laid out in 1727 with the silversmiths' quarter written into the plan. Johari Bazaar has been doing this longer than most countries we ship to have existed.

The families stayed

Chasing is taught at a bench, by a father, over years. The reason the skill survives here is that the workshops never became factories.

The assay office is local

The Sarafa Traders Committee has certified purity for the Jaipur trade for generations. Our bullion carries its mark because our own market demands it.

Why Parij Jewels

Eight reasons people order again

A workshop, not a warehouse

We make what we sell. Our silversmiths work three streets from the shop, and pieces are photographed the week they are finished.

Assayed in Jaipur

Purity is certified by the Sarafa Traders Committee — the city's own assay authority, and the mark our own trade buys against.

Priced from the workshop

No importer, no distributor, no showroom in a mall. You pay the price a Jaipur buyer pays, plus the freight.

Export-packed properly

Double-boxed, foam-seated, moisture-barriered. Silver arrives untarnished or we replace it.

Insured door to door

Every consignment is fully insured to its declared value and tracked from our bench to your hallway.

Engraving at no charge

Nameplates, dates and dedications are cut by hand before dispatch. Most gifting orders take it up.

We answer on WhatsApp

Not a ticket queue. Message the workshop and someone who has held the piece will reply, usually the same day.

Thirty days, no argument

If a piece is not what you expected, send it back. We pay the return freight on anything that arrives damaged.

Worldwide delivery

Packed for the journey, insured for the value

Double-boxed, foam-seated and moisture-barriered, because silver that arrives tarnished is our problem and not yours. Every consignment is tracked door to door.

Responsibility

Recycled metal, no plastic in the box, and people paid by the piece properly

Our silver is refined from reclaimed stock wherever the assay allows it. Packaging is paper, board and cotton — no polystyrene, no bubble wrap. Every silversmith we work with is paid per piece at a rate set with them, not for them, and we will put you on a call with the workshop if you would like to hear that from their side.

Questions

Everything people ask before their first order

Is your silver hallmarked?

Yes. Articles are stamped 925 for sterling silver and ship with a certificate of authenticity. Bullion is struck to 999 fine and carries the Sarafa Traders Committee, Jaipur assay mark, with a serial number you can quote back to us.

How long does international shipping take?

Four to six business days to the UAE, five to eight to the UK and Singapore, seven to ten to the United States and Canada, and eight to twelve to Australia. Every consignment is tracked and insured door to door.

Will I pay customs duty?

Possibly — it depends on your country and the declared value. Duty and local taxes are not included in our prices and are payable by you on arrival. We declare every consignment accurately; we will not under-declare a shipment.

Can I have a piece engraved?

Yes, and at no extra charge. Nameplates, dates and short dedications are cut by hand before dispatch. Tell us the wording at checkout and allow two additional working days.

Do you take orders for weddings and corporate gifting?

Regularly. We handle quantity orders with individual engraving, coordinated packaging and a single consolidated shipment. Message the workshop on WhatsApp with quantities and a date and we will come back with a quotation.

What is your returns policy?

Thirty days from delivery, in original condition and packaging. We pay return freight on anything that arrives damaged or is not as described. Engraved pieces and bullion are non-returnable once dispatched.

How do I stop silver from tarnishing?

Keep it dry, keep it out of direct sun, and keep it away from rubber and wool. Wipe with the cloth supplied rather than a liquid polish, which strips the oxidised detail from chased work. There is a full guide in our journal.

Can I see a piece before it ships?

Yes. Ask and we will photograph or video-call you the actual piece on the bench before it is packed. Most customers ordering an idol or a clock take this up.
